Elephant in the room

Olá, queridos seguidores.

Hoje queremos mostrar-vos uma pequena analogia, que encontramos, entre a gaguez e uma história, inglesa. "Elephant in the Room". Perguntam vocês, o que há de comum?! Pois bem, por vezes a nossa problemática, tão abordada aqui, é camuflada. Em certos casos, é uma verdade tão dura e óbvia que as pessoas, pais/educadores e as próprias pessoas que gaguejam, preferem nem dar importância, na esperança que um dia tudo passe. Mas não é assim. Há necessidade de encarar as coisas, tais como elas são, na medida que um dia tudo possa melhorar.

Esta pequena história retrata isso mesmo. É uma metáfora que se refere a uma verdade óbvia que, por vezes, é ignorada ou passada despercebida.

Em resumo, "Elephant in the Room" baseia-se na ideia de que seria impossível ignorar a presença de um "elefante" numa sala, quando as pessoas na sala fingem que o elefante não está ali, preferindo evitar os problemas do que encarando-os. 

There's an elephant in the room.

It is large and squatting, so it is hard to get around it.

Yes we squeeze by with "How are you?" and "I am fine"..

And a thousand other forms of trivial chatter.

We talk about the weather.

We talk about school.

We talk about everthing else - except the elephant in the room.

There's an elephant in room.

We all know it is there.

We are thinking about the elepahnt as we talk together.

It is constantly on our minds.

For you see, it is a very big elephant.

But we do not talk about the elephant in the room.

Oh, please let's talk about the elephant in the room.

If we talk about the fact that I might die

Perhaps we can talk about how I am living.

Can't we talk about the elephant without you looking away?

For if we cannot, then you are leaving me
